Ear Syringing

Assessment

Before initiating the ear syringing process, the doctor will conduct a thorough examination of your ears. This may involve inspecting the ear canal using an otoscope to assess the extent of earwax buildup.

Patient Comfort

We prioritize your comfort throughout the procedure. You will be seated in a comfortable position, and the room will be well-lit to facilitate a clear view of the ear canal.

Ear Irrigation

Using a specialized syringe or irrigation device, lukewarm water is gently and carefully directed into the ear canal. The water flow helps to dislodge and flush out accumulated earwax. The process is typically painless, though you may experience a mild sensation of water moving in the ear.

Monitoring and Adjustment

Throughout the procedure, our doctor will monitor the process to ensure it is effective and safe. If necessary, adjustments may be made to the water pressure or technique to accommodate individual variations.

Post-Procedure Examination

Once the ear syringing is complete, a post-procedure examination will be conducted to ensure that the ear canal is clear of excess wax. The GP may use an otoscope again to confirm the success of the procedure.

Aftercare Guidance

After the ear syringing, you will be provided with aftercare instructions to promote ear health. This may include recommendations to keep the ears dry and avoid inserting foreign objects into the ear canal.
